Painted Outdoor MDO (Medium Density Overlay) is an outdoor rated ply material for outdoor sign lettering. The glue between the wood layers is designed to resist the moisture and hot/freezing environment of the outdoors. The cross ply in the wood gives it additional strength against debris kicked up by the wind.

We paint MDO wooden letters with a high quality automotive grade paint on the face and sides that leaves a beautiful glossy finish like a new car. Standard colors come in about a hundred hues and we can custom match any color.

Our Painted MDO letters do not come with any mounting hardware. Mounting studs are available for a small fee. These studs are threaded aluminum prongs that stick out of the back of the letter. The mounting template will display the location of the studs and is used to drill holes in the wall where the lettering is mounted. Alternative mounting options are heavy duty adhesive or drilling screws through the face of the letter (though this is not recommended because it will ruin the professional finish). Font Height

The letter height you order is based on the uppercase letter "A" of the font you specify. Depending on the font, some uppercase/lowercase letters may be shorter or taller than the height you specify on the order form so they will look proportionate to each other. Therefore, you may receive some of your lettering in different dimensions than the letter height ordered. If all lettering is ordered in lower case, we still scale the lettering to an uppercase "A" which will make most of the letters smaller than what was ordered. Fractions: Order the next size up and indiciate in the comments field the exact height you want your letters. For example, to order 2 5/8 Inch height, order 3 Inch and write in the comments "Cut at 2 5/8 Inches"
