Painted wooden letters quickly add a professional look to a wall, office, hall, or conference room and the natural wood material lends an organic feeling to sign lettering. We cut all letters custom so we can make any size, small or large, as well as custom shapes or logos. All of our painted wood lettering is hand painted with an indoor-rated matte acrylic paint on the sides and the face but not the back. Painted wood letters add a nice dimension to any wall and we recommend at least a ¼ inch thickness for most projects.
We cut our standard indoor lettering from Baltic Birch Plywood which is one of the strongest wood materials available for sign and craft projects. If you are looking for wood letters thicker than ¾ inch, we have Painted MDF wooden letters. We offer outdoor rated wood in letter heights 6 inches or taller here (Medex). If you need outdoor lettering shorter than 6 inches or are thinking about painting your wooden letters, we recommend ordering unpainted wood letters and coating them with primer, paint, and sealant once you receive them.
Our painted wooden letters do not come with any mounting hardware. Double sided mounting tape and removable spray adhesive are available for purchase when submitting your order. If you would rather hang your wooden letters by a nail, we suggest purchasing framing hardware locally. Font Height
The letter height you order is based on the uppercase letter "A" of the font you specify.
Depending on the font, some uppercase/lowercase letters may be shorter or taller than the height
you specify on the order form so they will look proportionate to each other. Therefore, you may
receive some of your lettering in different dimensions than the letter height ordered. If all
lettering is ordered in lower case, we still scale the lettering to an uppercase "A" which will
make most of the letters smaller than what was ordered. Please contact us if you would like to
size your lettering differently from our standards. Please see examples below:
Fractions: Order the next size up and indiciate in the comments field the exact height you want your letters.
For example, to order 2 5/8 Inch height, order 3 Inch and write in the comments "Cut at 2 5/8 Inches"
