Medex is a superior smooth fiberboard material utilizing water resistant adhesive to hold all the small particles together, forming a tighter bond than can be obtained with ply and making the material impenetrable by moisture for much longer than other wood products. Painted Medex wood letters are a shop favorite for outdoor wooden lettering.

The composite material cuts exquisitely, is sealed with two coats of primer and then coated with highly durable automotive grade paint. The smooth painted finish is glossy, and no one will be able to tell these are made of wood. Matte finish is available on request and specific colors can be matched with an additional cost. Beveled or rounded edges are available on half inch or thicker look great and improve the value of the lettering. Optional stud mounting provides an unblemished lettering and includes a template for simple installation and alignment. Like our indoor wood letters, these outside painted wood sign letters can be made in any font and allow for custom logos to be made to your specifications.

Our Painted Medex letters do not come with any mounting hardware. Mounting studs are available for an additional charge on 1/2" or thicker letters. These studs are threaded aluminum prongs that stick out of the back of the letter. The mounting template will display the location of the studs and is used to drill holes in the wall where the lettering is mounted. Alternative mounting options are heavy duty adhesive or drilling screws through the face of the letter (though this is not recommended because it will ruin the professional finish) .

Font Height

The letter height you order is based on the uppercase letter "A" of the font you specify. Depending on the font, some uppercase/lowercase letters may be shorter or taller than the height you specify on the order form so they will look proportionate to each other. Therefore, you may receive some of your lettering in different dimensions than the letter height ordered. If all lettering is ordered in lower case, we still scale the lettering to an uppercase "A" which will make most of the letters smaller than what was ordered. Please contact us if you would like to size your lettering differently from our standards. Please see examples below:

Fractions: Order the next size up and indiciate in the comments field the exact height you want your letters. For example, to order 2 5/8 Inch height, order 3 Inch and write in the comments "Cut at 2 5/8 Inches"
