(Indoor and Outdoor Use)
This rubber like adhesive provides a permanent or repositionable bond with almost any type of surface; including textured drywall. The product has a heat and water-resistant bond but can be removed from a painted surface without peeling off the paint when the letters are gently removed. The easiest way to remove any rubber residue left on the wall when you remove the letters is with Goo Gone® or similar product. You can successfully do this without removing the paint. We suggest applying this to the back of your lettering by spraying the rubber-like adhesive on a scratch piece of paper and then using a craft stick or disposable paint brush to apply the adhesive to the back of the lettering. This eliminates any overspray from getting on the edges of the letters. The product comes in a large 12 oz. can. You should have plenty left over for other projects.

  1. Make light pencil markings on the wall or the backboard of the profile (or part of the profile) of the letters you will be mounting.
  2. Turn the lettering over with the back side facing upward.
  3. f you letters are wide enough to avoid overspray on the edges, spray a generous amount directly onto the back of the letters. If your letter style is thin, such as the Curlz font, you will want to spray the Stick-It spray in a ball on a scratch piece of paper and then transfer the adhesive to the backside of the letter with a disposable brush or swab. Depending on the size of your letters, use a cotton swab or a disposable brush to apply the adhesive to the back side of the first letter. You should have approximately 1/8 inch thick layer of the adhesive after it has foamed up in order to get proper adhesion. Try to avoid getting the adhesive too close to the edge of the lettering to avoid it from being pressed out when mounting the letter.
  4. Let adhesive sit for at least 2-3 minutes before applying to wall or backboard. (The instructions on the can indicate 1 minute but we have found that a longer wait time helps the adhesive become more tacky.)
  5. Carefully, but firmly apply the lettering to the wall or backboard you are mounting to. The lettering should almost instantly stick if you have allowed the adhesive to sit as explained in step four. (The wider the lettering, the quicker the lettering will stick due to the larger surface area.)
  6. If you need to remove the lettering immediately, or later, start by pulling one of the edges of the letter slowly away from the surface it was mounted to, allowing time for the adhesive to release. The adhesive will always stay flexible and rubber like. You can remove the Stick-It residue from the paint on the wall with Goof Off or another similar product.

Note: We have not found any retailer that sales this product cheaper than we do. Nevertheless, you if do end up purchasing this product elsewhere, make sure you purchase the one with the black cap (as shown above) instead of the one with the yellow cap that is put out by the same company. the yellow cap product is not nearly as tacky and will not work well for hanging lettering.
